Hace 1 día · Rise was forfeited to the Crown in 1459 and 1460 by the attainder of Neville (d. 1460) but then descended to his son Richard Neville (d. 1471), earl of Warwick and Salisbury, 'the kingmaker'. At the partitioning of Warwick's estates in 1475, Rise and other Yorkshire manors were assigned to Warwick's son-in-law, Richard Plantagenet, duke of Gloucester, (fn. 48) later Richard III.
Hace 4 días · 1549 – Death of Ralph Neville, 4th Earl of Westmorland, English peer, soldier and Privy Councillor. He was buried at Staindrop in County Durham. Neville was one of the peers who sat in judgement on Anne Boleyn in May 1536 and served Henry VIII as a soldier in the North of England and borders, and Edward VI in Scotland.

In 1436 he married Lady Elizabeth de Beauchamp (d. 18 June 1448), daughter of Richard de Beauchamp, 1st Earl of Worcester, and the former Lady Isabel le Despenser, who later succeeded as de jure 3rd Baroness Bergavenny.

Hace 4 días · Edward was the eldest surviving son of Richard, duke of York, by Cicely, daughter of Ralph Neville, earl of Westmorland. His father was descended from two sons of the 14th-century king Edward III and, in the 1450s, led a revolt against Henry VI; in 1460, Richard’s supporters declared him Henry’s successor.
