Florence and the Machine (stylized as Florence + the Machine) are an English indie rock band that formed in London in 2007, consisting of lead vocalist Florence Welch, keyboardist Isabella Summers, guitarist Rob Ackroyd, harpist Tom Monger, and a collaboration of other musicians.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is a detective novel by the British writer Agatha Christie, her third to feature Hercule Poirot as the lead detective. The novel was published in the UK in June 1926 by William Collins, Sons, having previously been serialised as Who Killed Ackroyd? between July and September 1925 in the London Evening News.

Robert Ackroyd was born in England on October 7, 1982. He is a guitarist with the band Florence and the Machine, known for such songs as “Shake It Out” and “Dog Days Are Over”. Before he joined Florence and the Machine, he played lead guitar for the band The Sextones.
