Segismundo Vasa ( Mariefred, 20 de junio de 1566 - Varsovia, 30 de abril de 1632) fue rey de Polonia de 1587 hasta 1632, con el nombre de Segismundo III, y rey de Suecia de 1592 a 1599, con el nombre de Segismundo I. Era hijo del rey Juan III y de Catalina Jagellón . Segismundo alcanzó la autoridad real de dos reinos: Polonia y Suecia.

It began when Sigismund III Vasa, elected King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, was crowned King of Sweden following the death of his father John III. The union ended following a civil war in Sweden in which he lost the crown to his uncle, who eventually became Charles IX.
