2 de may. de 2024 · High Noon is a small western, overinflated with capital-B big ideas (or the presumption of same), but not without its small pleasures. Sure, it probably wouldn’t even make a list of the 10 greatest westerns of 1952, but it’s arguably Zinnemann’s best film, features a great cast of genre regulars (including Jack Elam, Thomas Mitchell, and Lee Van Cleef), and the overall construction is sound.

4 de may. de 2024 · Director Fred Zinnemann’s High Noon is generally regarded as one of the greatest Westerns ever made and rightfully so.Even if it hadn’t won four Academy Awards (Best Actor for Gary Cooper, Best Film Editing, Best Song and Best Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture), it left such a profound and lasting legacy that it’s hard to imagine the genre without it.

This new release includes a Blu-Ray disc that is derived from the same master, and it looks very pleasant even before leveling up with the 4K UHD disc.
