Saint Vincent and the Grenadines lies to the west of Barbados, south of Saint Lucia and north of Grenada in the Windward Islands of the Lesser Antilles, an island arc of the Caribbean Sea.
El estado celebra su independencia el 27 de octubre de 1979. Durante todo el siglo XX el país ha sido afectado por sucesivos desastres naturales. En 1902 el volcán Soufrière entró en erupción, matando a unas 2.000 personas. Muchos terrenos fueron arruinados, y la economía de la isla se deterioró.

San Vicente (en inglés: Saint Vincent) es una isla volcánica en el mar Caribe, que a pesar de tener solo 345 km² es el territorio más extenso del país de San Vicente y las Granadinas. Está ubicada entre Santa Lucía y Granada. Está formada por montañas volcánicas parcialmente sumergidas.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea. It is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and CARICOM . The country speaks English as its official language. The capital, and its main port, is Kingstown .
The country consists of the main island of Saint Vincent and the northern two-thirds of the Grenadines, a chain of small islands stretching south from Saint Vincent to Grenada. Its total land area is 390 km 2 of which 342.7 km 2 is the main island of Saint Vincent.
